Uniform and Costs

Feel part of the Group.

Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and helps everyone feel part of the group. Our uniform consists of a sweatshirt or shirt that you can sew badges on and a coloured scarf or ‘necker’ which is black and white for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. It is green and purple for members of the Explorer Unit. There are lots of other optional accessories you can wear such as hats, hoodies, trousers or shorts.

Uniform

A uniform can be bought from our local scout store, the District run a District Store from District HQ in Morden, more details of which can be found here. Alternatively if you would prefer to order online uniform can be bought from the National Scout Store here. If you’re not sure where to start, leaders can give you more information about what to buy. They may even have second hand Uniform.

Subs

We charge a fee (called subscriptions or subs) to cover the costs of the annual membership fee, running costs and meetings costs – which covers venue hire, admin, insurances and materials for activities. Although many of these costs are annual in nature, to make it more affordable for parents/guardians we split these costs into termly payments. There are sometimes extra charges for special activities, camps and events. We try to keep our subs as low as possible so that anyone can come to Scouts. If you need help paying subs, please speak to your Section Leader. The group has a hardship fund to ensure cost is not a barrier to Scouting for anyone.

Subs are £37 a term, paid termly or £100 paid annually. Beavers, Cubs and Scouts should pay into the Group Bank Account and Explorers into the Explorers Bank Account.
